Narcos: Rise of the Cartels
Urban Environments

UE4, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Lighting

Urban Environments created for the Narcos: Rise of the Cartels. During my time at Kuju I was responsible for making assets, environments, materials, BPs, and lighting. I created almost all the foliage for the game and worked on the lighting for half of the levels which I really enjoyed. It was a small team and I worked closely with the art director and two other artists who created some of the assets and environments above.

La Catedral was a prison in Colombia that built to specifications ordered by drug cartel leader Pablo Escobar. Under a 1991 agreement with the Colombian government in which Escobar would surrender to authorities and serve a maximum term of five full years and the Colombian government would not extradite him to the United States. In addition to the facility being built to Escobar's specifications, Escobar was also given the right to choose who would guard him and it was believed he chose guards loyal only to him. Moreover, the prison was believed to have been designed more to keep out Escobar's enemies and protect him from assassination attempts, than to keep Escobar in. This was used as a final level in the game.
